Course Content

The course mainly consists of an historical survey of Spanish literature from the Middle Age to the nineteenth century. In view of the extent of the subject matter, a selection of authors and works is made. Selected texts are analyzed in class.

Learning Outcomes

General competencies

Students identify and describe the major periods in Spanish literature from Middle Age to the 19th Century.
Students analyze and interpret Spanish literary texts.
Students use the appropriate literary concepts and terms related to Spanish literature.
Students establish links between the different literary periods in Spanish literature.

Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Written Exam determines 70% of the final mark.
PRAC Practical Assignment determines 30% of the final mark.

Within the Written Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Written examination with a relative weight of 70 which comprises 70% of the final mark.

Within the PRAC Practical Assignment category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Active partic. and assignments with a relative weight of 30 which comprises 30% of the final mark.
