Course Content

The course sets out to situate the role of the psychiatrist as part of the legal system by way of a series of practical examples (psychiatry reports for the benefit of the courts, sectioning, the Protection of Persons/Properties Act). General concepts on agression, sexuality and related pathology, the role played by sexual pathology in various criminal offences.
All of the above sets out from the reading of a number of books, articles and personal notes. The course also involves discussions on topical events.
