Course Content

In the context of this course, the different varieties of Italian are discussed.        More specifically, the following core chapters are dealt with:

 

              - varietà diachroniche

              - varietà diafasiche

              - varietà diatopiche

              - varietà diamesiche

              - varietà diastratiche

             

              The lectures, which are interactive, cover theoretical approaches as well as practical           applications and examples.

Weekly attendance is strongly recommended.

The lectures are taught in Italian.

For the section SELF ("Self-study and external working methods"), the students have to read and prepare two articles related to the content of the course independently.

Learning Outcomes

General competencies

 

              The course aims to deepen the knowledge of the structures of the Italian language    and to provide an overview of Italian and its varieties.

 

              Students are able to scientifically analyse the diatopic, diachronic and diastratic         variation of Italian, using theoretical models and the corresponding linguistic       terminology.

 

              Students are able to analyse in an autonomous way analogous examples to            those discussed in the course.

 

Grading

The final grade is composed based on the following categories:
Oral Exam determines 100% of the final mark.

Within the Oral Exam category, the following assignments need to be completed:

  • Oral exam with a relative weight of 100 which comprises 100% of the final mark.
