Offer 1 with catalog number 1021462ANR for all students in the 1st semester at a (A) Bachelor - preliminary level.
Business students need to understand that they will use and be confronted with business law throughout their careers, even if their business never gets caught up in a legal dispute. Hence, it is important that business students gain a basic understanding of the legal environment in which businesses operate. They need to be able to assess and anticipate possible legal risks involved in any business decision-making process.
To provide students with such a basic understanding, this introductory course is divided in three modules: (i) business and the law, (ii) doing business in Europe, and (ii) the legal structure of business organisations.
In the first module, students will get acquainted with the basic concepts and legal structures that are indispensable for a good understanding of legal reasoning and the importance of (business) law. The second module is dedicated to the influence of European Union law on businesses operating within Europe. Finally, in the third module the focus will be on business organisation law, with a specific emphasis on the various organisational structures available to businesses and the company, in particular.
