Master of Arts in het tolken – twee talen
1) Module I Tolkwetenschap en -praktijk – verplicht pakket
2) Module II Tolkvaardigheden – verplicht keuzepakket
3) Module III Tekst- en discoursanalyse & Audiovisueel Vertalen - keuzevakken
In deze module van 30 ECTS staan zowel het onderzoek binnen de tolkwetenschap als de verwerving van beroepservaring centraal.
Tolkwetenschap is de wetenschappelijke discipline die zich toelegt op de studie van tolken (zowel proces- als productgericht onderzoek). Studenten verwerven inzichten in belangrijke theoretische stromingen, probleemstellingen, onderzoeksvragen en -methodologieën binnen deze discipline. Aan de hand van hun verworven kennis en praktische onderzoeksgerelateerde vaardigheden zijn ze in staat om, onder begeleiding van een promotor, een onderzoek uit te voeren dat verband houdt met tolken. Het onderzoek mondt uit in een masterproef waarmee studenten aantonen dat ze de eindcompetenties van de Master of Arts in het Tolken in voldoende mate hebben verworven.
Studenten verwerven binnen deze module ook inzichten in interculturele communicatieve vaardigheden en doen binnen deze module ook praktische ervaring met de tolkpraktijk via een verplichte stage.

Deze module bevat een verplicht cursuspakket van 24 ECTS waarin studenten tolkvaardigheden oefenen en die leren toepassen in verschillende beroepsfuncties op de tolkmarkt, zoals sociaal tolken, juridisch tolken en audiovisueel tolken. studenten verwerven ook kennis en praktische vaardigheden om zich gespecialiseerde terminologie eigen te maken en oplossingen te vinden voor de vertaling van terminologie.
Studenten dienen voor de twee talen waarvoor ze ingeschreven zijn een atelier te volgen van 12 ECTS. Alleen de volgende talencombinaties worden toegelaten: Duits-Engels; Duits-Frans; Duits-Nederlands; Duits-Spaans; Engels-Frans, Engels-Nederlands; Engels-Spaans; Frans-Nederlands; Frans-Spaans; Spaans-Nederlands.
